Pancake Mix/Products

I have tried many different brands and products for
pancake art over the years and these are my favorites!

I buy mine from Walmart in the kitchen gadget isle. I see that amazon.com sells them also. These look very similar to the ones that I get from Walmart.

  2. Hello, I just watched your Pancake art tutorial and it was really good. I am curious since I noticed that you are not using a non stick pan set and I really want to make one but I don't have that pan like yours in that video. Thanks and keep making videos :)) - Steffani

    1. Hi Steffani! Thanks for stopping by my blog...and for watching my YouTube channel! I use a nonstick griddle for pancake art but I do believe that you could use a pan on the stove turned to low heat. That should work just fine. I had a blog friend once try making pancake art in a microwave with great success. I've never tried that before but it did seem successful. The key is to keep the temperature low so that the pancake cooks slowly and doesn't brown. This will keep the pancake colors looking pretty. I hope this gives you some ideas!Let me know if you give it a try! :) Blessings, Jenni

These days I mix together Krusteaz with Walmart's pancake mix because Krusteaz works best for pancake art but Walmart's brand tastes better.

1 1/2 Cups Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
1 1/2 Cups Walmart's Brand: Great Value Complete Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix
      3 Tbsp Sugar
      1/4 tsp vanilla
      2 1/2 Cups + 1 Tbsp water

Mix the dry ingredients together. Add the water and vanilla and beat with a mixer to get all the lumps out. Divide into cups and color each cup with food coloring. Have fun!!

    1. I bought my spatula at Walmart last year. It doesn't need to be anything special except that the end of it should be pretty flat for scooping underneath the pancake. I hope this helps :)
