Pancake Art Christmas Truck

Have you noticed that this Christmas season seems to bring about a ton of red Christmas trucks! I seriously see them everywhere...mugs, t-shirts, wall decor and even on a cookie jar!

Anyhow, they seem to be very popular this year and I thought that it would be fun to make a pancake Red Christmas truck! I just posted a new tutorial video on my youtube channel HERE

In this video I talk about finding our purpose in life. This verse (above) really says it all....that we are to love God and others with everything in us and that these are the two greatest commandments.

So, I believe that we have 2 purposes in life, not just one. If we love God, our life and our actions will be to glorify Him. If we love others, we'll tell them about Jesus and salvation. I believe that God gives us many tasks in our lives to fulfill these 2 purposes. We can choose to be obedient and do them or not do them.

So this brings me to the reason that I made a red Christmas truck pancake. You can get in a car but have so many excuses to not even start the car that you never even drive it! So we have a choice to fulfill the big dreams and tasks that God has for us or we can make excuses, live in fear of trying and stay stuck where we are.

I believe that we will find more joy and satisfaction in our life if we are following God's tasks for us rather than our own dreams and ambitions which will leave us empty.

I want to encourage you to...

GET READY * GET SET * DRIVE
towards God's tasks for you!!

Pancake Art School Lunch SUB Sandwich

New Video Series is up! Learn how to make this Pancake Art School lunch SUB Sandwich! Click HERE to watch it!

In this video, I talk about a valuable lesson that we can learn from the Ant...and that is to prepare for our future hope in heaven.

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, thou sluggard;
consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer,
and gathereth her food in the harvest.

These verses talk about how the ant is wise and prepares for the days ahead and I think that we can definitely apply that to our future goal. We need to take a good look at our life and ask ourselves, are we just going along aimlessly, or are we working hard, training ourselves and preparing to win the prize, which for us is heaven?

So the key word for today is “prepare,” and I was thinking about how this could definitely apply to a school lunch. If you don't prepare and fix your lunch before school or you don't prepare and bring lunch money, you're really going to be sorry around lunchtime. Yes, some of you might be able to scrounge around and beg your friends for food or cash, but your really taking a risk when you do that...and certainly you don't want to be starving all day! So, you definitely want to be prepared for lunchtime, right?!

Being prepared for our future after we die is something that we need to be working on now. We really can't afford the risk of putting it off hoping that we still have a long time to live and that we can worry about it later. We're not promised tomorrow. That's a risk I don't want to take and I doubt that you want to take it either!

Step 1 Confess that Jesus is Lord, believe that he died on the cross for your sins and that he rose from the dead. Then ask forgiveness for and turn away from your sins. I have a video about that HERE. After that, we need to be preparing for the prize, which is heaven and that takes effort and discipline on our parts.

Step 2 Be baptized. Jesus was baptized and he is our perfect example so we too should follow in his footsteps.

Step 3 is be in God's word. I often tell my kids that they need their Bible vitamins for the day because when your continually in God's word, then it's always on your mind and the Holy Spirit can help you apply it to your life. There are great Bible Apps out there but I really love having a physical Bible. You can underline areas where God's spoken to your heart or you can write notes in the margins. Anyhow, if you would like to have a Bible, please send me a quick email and I'll make sure that you get one for free.

Step 4 is to be praying continually. The Bible says that God is our shepherd and that we are his sheep. His sheep know his voice, so we need to be praying but also listening to what he wants to speak to our hearts.

So let's not be risk takers when it comes to our salvation, let's be prepared and learn from the ant!

Blessings!

Lobster Pancake Art Tutorial

Hey Friends!

I just posted a new YouTube video on how to make an oyster pearl pancake. In that video, there's this selfish lobster who's only interested in collecting worthless stuff.

Today I'll show you how to make that selfish lobster in pancake art!

You'll need 3 colors of pancake batter: dark red, red and white (which has no color)

*Optional* If you want to make the lobster a scarf and hat, you'll also want two different shades of green pancake batter. This isn't included in the tutorial.

You'll also need chocolate chips for the eyes and a pancake griddle. Cook the entire pancake between warm-200 degrees.

Step 1: Using your dark red batter begin to draw the lobster's body.

Step 2: Draw the lobster's tail pieces. The end piece is basically a half moon with two dots.

Step 3: Draw the lobster's claws, keeping in mind how large you want them in proportion to it's body.

Step 4: Draw the lobster's antennae and two white eyes.

Step 5: These oval dots will connect and become the lobster's arm.

Step 6: Draw a happy smile for your lobster.

Step 7: Switch to your lighter shade of red and fill in the pancake lobster. Let it cook until it's slightly bubbly and starts to loose it's shine, then flip it and let it cook completely.

Put it all together, using the chocolate chips for eyes.

There you have it, one selfish shellfish lobster who LOVES himself and grabbing at worthless shells and totally missing the super valuable pearl down below. Wow! He really needs help. Ha!
